WHAT: Hoepfner’s presentation titled “High-power, large chip PhlatLight LEDs enable new lighting designs” will discuss the use of PhlatLight LEDs giving lighting fixture designers new degrees of freedom for exciting new illumination designs. Luminus Devices’ PhlatLight LEDs, which are the largest and most powerful LED devices manufactured today, are now available for lighting applications. They have been proven in demanding projection applications, like projection TVs and front projectors. These large chip PhlatLight LED light sources enable lighting fixture designs similar to traditional filament light sources, and help to overcome pixilation and color shadowing effects associated with conventional LEDs. This presentation will discuss the advantages of PhlatLight LEDs for specific applications like directional lighting, color mixed effect lighting, and illumination using light guides. PhlatLight LEDs have also been designed to be operated over a wide range of conditions, from ultra-efficient to ultra-bright, depending on the applications requirements.
